Led by the previously released Turn It Down and Eyes singles, Kaskade releases his seventh artist album. Unfolding a bunch of new collaborations and sounds, including those that have fuelled the American DJ and producer’s strike into progressive house to be voted the best DJ of America. Debuting his first album in 2003, it was not until the indenture with Ultra Records in 2006 that the rise of Kaskade truly took off, leading him into a placing amongst modern-day’s most highly-rated DJ’s in terms of electronic dance music. Although last year’s ”Dynasty” album was arguably his most ground-breaking to date, ”Fire & Ice” is already seeing immensely successful charting placings acceded by the aforementioned single releases of 2011. Brilliantly divided into two discs – one for the hottest of club sounds and one for alternate, downtempo ICE mixes on each and everyone of the 10 singles featured – his 2011 album is already exceling previous year’s triumphs with a handful creative tenderings.
Boasting a craft unlike what people may expect out of a jointed making from the divine Kaskade and Skrillex, Lick It debunks an instantly memorable blend of the 70’s most ravishing disco sounds and wobbling, dubstep-influenced chords to form a momentous contribution to the evolution of electronic dance music and the more experimental records off the new double-album.
Filled with a soulful and utmostly emotional chord progression, tipped with the silky voice of Becky Jean Williams from Late Night Alumni, the Illionois-raised Ryan Raddon teams up with Germany’s probably most underrated duo, Inpetto, for the characteristic How Long.
Also armed with blistering chords in conjunction with Rebecca & Fiona’s glorious vocals to make up Turn It Down, the amazingly feel-good progressive piece with Mindy Gledhill that is Eyes and a bunch of collaborations with Dada Life, Skylar Grey, Haley and more, the seventh artist album out from Kaskade is finally released.
